- Target Candidate: PCU nurse, cardiac stepdown RN, acute care RN with 2+ years recent experience\n
\n\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\n

- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, cardiac stepdown, or similar acute care nursing experience\n
- At least 1 completed travel contract preferred (travel nurse / travel RN experience helpful)\n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (IA accepted on offer); candidates eligible for Illinois licensure considered\n
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)\n
- Clinical competency with chest tubes, femstops, tracheostomies, CBIs, drains, and central lines\n
- Experience titrating and administering critical cardiac/vasoactive medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban\n
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR documentation preferred\n
- Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility (travel contract requirement)\n
- Submission materials required: driver’s license, work history/resume, recent skills checklist, license verification, required certifications, and one supervisory reference\n
\n\nResponsibilities\n

- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to PCU and cardiac stepdown patients in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment\n
- Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions, including post-procedure and telemetry patients\n
- Administer and titrate critical care medications and drips per protocol\n
- Perform and manage advanced bedside care (chest tubes, central lines, trachs, drains) and respond to rapid changes in patient status\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff—to develop and implement individualized care plans\n
- Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed to support patient care and staffing\n
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately using EPIC EMR\n
- Participate in orientation, unit-based education, and ongoing professional development to maintain clinical competencies\n
