An elementary school in Storrs Mansfield, CT, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support 4th-grade students in both a resource room and general classroom setting. This full-time contract position extends through the end of the current school year and offers a dynamic environment focused on inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
- Provide specialized instruction and support within the 4th-grade classroom and resource room.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to foster student growth and inclusion.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies to maximize learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports and compliance with special education regulations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in 4th grade.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, teaching methods, and classroom management techniques.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and employ a variety of teaching materials.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills for working with staff and families.
