Medical Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to ensure a positive, high-quality patient clinical experience during office visits. This role involves basic education of patients and families, collaboration with physicians and staff, and detailed documentation in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. You will work collaboratively with various providers across different locations, promoting timely access to appropriate care.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full patient experience for multiple specialties following check-in, including rooming patients, updating charts, taking vitals, and assisting with scheduling and referrals.
- Provide demonstrations and patient education when needed.
- Network with external resources on the patient’s behalf, working with insurance companies and referral groups to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care.
- Collaborate with the team to make a positive and professional impact on all patients, visitors, referral sources, and other members of the public.
- Provide high-level professional support and assistance to all patients, physicians, providers, and staff.
- Ensure the back office and trafficked areas are clean, well-maintained, and support a professional environment for all visitors.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in EMR and medical terminology related to ENT and pain management.
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, with skills in phlebotomy.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of work experience in a medical practice setting.
- Basic knowledge of CPT/ICD coding.
- Ability to speak and understand other languages.
- Preferably, a minimum of two years of experience in an allergy setting or practice involving frequent use of phlebotomy.
- Preferably possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the working state(s).
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leawood, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
