Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position covering multiple critical care and intermediate care units at a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center, with Epic EMR experience required.
Details
- Float pool position rotating across multiple ICU and intermediate care units, including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit, Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit, Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit, Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit, and ED Boarders
- Night shift, 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts per week)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required; time off cannot be approved for Memorial Day or the 4th of July
- 36- or 48-hour weekly options available
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating required across units in accordance with the facility's float policy and candidate's clinical experience
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required; pending VA license will be accepted at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ICU and/or intermediate care nursing experience required
- Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma or academic medical center setting strongly relevant given the unit scope
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Must provide copies of DL and Social Security Card for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates will float across critical care and intermediate care units based on clinical background and facility need
- Up to 40 hours of RTO available per 13-week contract; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Local candidates are accepted — no radius rule applies
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must wait 12 months before returning as a traveler
