Deliver skilled nursing care on a dynamic 16-bed neurology unit specializing in stroke, post-op spinal, brain, and cervical cases in Neenah, WI. This 13-week contract position offers a stimulating environment caring for post trauma and TBI patients with an emphasis on resilience and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care focused on neurology and post-operative recovery
- Manage patient caseloads with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, collaborating with 4-5 RNs and 2 patient care technicians per shift
- Perform charting using EPIC within the past year (strongly preferred)
- Float across ThedaCare facilities within a 60-mile radius, matching your skill set
- Work variable 12-hour shifts with day (5:30 AM6:00 PM) and night (5:30 PM6:00 AM) options; weekend rotation every other weekend; holiday rotations as needed
- Complete an 8-hour unbillable orientation and adhere to contract attendance requirements including making up any missed shifts within two weeks
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Wisconsin RN license (or compact license)
- AHA BLS and NIHSS certification
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience plus 1 prior travel contract; ICU/IMC experience highly preferred
- Strong clinical skills in stroke and post-op neurological care
- Flexibility for varied shifts including night and weekend work
- Hardworking, resilient, adaptable with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with stroke and spinal/brain postoperative patients
