Join a growing, forward-thinking team that values patient care, and is committed to maintaining a safe environment for staff members and patients. Meridian HealthCare is seeking a full-time Assessment Counselor - Criminal Justice to join our team.
Starting salary starts at $40,000 per year, but can go up based on licensure and overall experience
Daily Expectations and Duties - Overview:
- Organize referrals and identify inmates to determine appropriateness and interest in individual counseling, treatment, and/or placement on vivitrol.
- Interviews clients, coordinates assessments, and prepares a narrative summary/bio including problem areas, client strengths, treatment recommendations and diagnosis.
- Develops an initial treatment plan for assigned clients.
- Discharges clients that are accepted in services but who do not attend beyond the assessment process.
- Makes referrals and provides necessary case management consultation, correspondence and advocacy to optimize client's accessibility to needed services that are not provided by the Agency.
- Facilitates group counseling and completes appropriate and timely documentation.
- Provides individual counseling, updates Behavioral Health Service Plan as needed and completes appropriate and timely documentation.
- Participates in individual and department supervision and presents client cases on an as needed basis in clinical supervision meetings.
- Complete all documentation in a timely manner in accordance to Agency policy and provides necessary data for statistical and billing purposes.
- Achieves and maintain the Agency's established productivity standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree and Ohio licensure (LPC/LPCC) or Bachelor's Degree and Ohio Licensure (LSW) required.
- Competency or training in chemical dependency treatment preferred. Interns welcomed to apply as we will also consider Counseling/Social Work students close to graduation.

Requirements:
