Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Join a dynamic imaging department in Volcano, HI, providing expert ultrasound services in a contract role at a well-established medical center. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced ultrasound skills across a variety of patient populations and procedures within a supportive hospital environment. Candidates must plan to arrive the Thursday before their start date to complete an essential employee health appointment on Friday. Timely availability is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound imaging with proficiency in the following areas:
    • Abdomen: Aorta, IVC, liver/biliary system, pancreas, spleen, renal (normal and pathological).
    • Gynecology: Breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis (pathological/normal, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult, pediatric).
    • Obstetrics: 1st-3rd trimester, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IUGR, uterus/adnexa.
    • Neonatal: Congenital anomalies, neonatal head.
    • Superficial Structures: Abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid.
    • Vascular: Carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper/lower extremity venous and arterial duplex.
  • Conduct procedures including aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative ultrasound.
  • Utilize the Canon i700 ultrasound system along with Meditech EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS for patient data management.
  • Provide coverage across units and departments as needed, including on-call duties.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience performing diagnostic ultrasound in an acute hospital setting.
  • Registered with ARDMS, holding certifications in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Ability to work a full 40-hour schedule, including shift work and taking call as necessary.
