You will perform detailed surface preparation, apply paint using spray equipment and hand tools, and help maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site at an apartment community in Huntington Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exterior surfaces, including stucco walls and wood trim, by sanding, scraping, cleaning, and caulking as needed.
  • Perform paint prep work such as masking, covering, and protecting adjacent surfaces and areas from overspray or drips.
  • Apply paint using a spray gun, brushes, and rollers to achieve an even, high-quality finish on all assigned surfaces.
  • Assist with basic drywall-related tasks as needed, including minor patching and surface preparation.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, coverage, and adherence to project standards, making touch-ups as necessary.
  • Use and maintain painting tools and equipment properly, ensuring they are cleaned, stored, and handled safely.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and guidelines while working outdoors, including safe use of ladders and equipment.

  • Hands-on experience with paint preparation, including sanding, masking, and surface cleaning.
  • Ability to operate and control a spray gun for exterior painting applications.
  • Capability to perform basic drywall-related tasks such as minor patching and prepping.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
  • Good attitude and positive, professional demeanor on the job site.
  • Good work ethic, including reliability, punctuality, and willingness to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work safely in an outdoor environment, including standing, bending, and lifting as required for painting tasks.
  • Ability to successfully complete a standard drug screen as required by the employer.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with working on multi-unit residential properties such as apartment communities.
  • Comfort using ladders and working at various heights in an outdoor setting.
  • Experience coordinating with other trades or team members on active construction or renovation sites.
  • Personal set of basic painter’s tools, including work boots, a two-gallon bucket, good quality brush, mini roller handle, putty knife, caulking gun, extension pole, and utility knife.

Why Work Here?

You will join a team that values a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and pride in craftsmanship. The role offers consistent, hands-on work in a professional setting where your painting skills directly contribute to improving and maintaining a well-known residential community. You will gain experience on a sizable property, build your portfolio of exterior painting projects, and work alongside other skilled tradespeople in a supportive, safety-conscious environment.

Work Environment

This is an outdoor role based at an apartment community in Huntington Beach, CA. You will work primarily on building exteriors, including stucco walls and wood trim, often exposed to changing weather conditions such as sun, wind, and coastal humidity. The environment involves active job sites where painting, prepping, and some drywall-related tasks are performed.
