Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment in a combined Cath Lab and IR setting with EP lab floating requirements.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in a combined Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) unit with 3 suites/labs
- Common Cath Lab cases include left and right heart caths, STEMIs, ICDs, pacemakers, carotids, and peripherals; IR cases include venous placement, port-a-cath, fistula, biliary tube, nephrostomy tube, and IVC filter; EP lab cases include ablations and device implants
- Average of 8–12 cases per day across the lab
- Charting via Cerner (Xper)
- Phillips telemetry system used on unit
- 5x8-hour day shifts; self-scheduling hours are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Weekday evening call required based on unit needs; call shift runs 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM with a 30-minute response time required
- Weekend call required approximately every other weekend (frequency may vary); weekend call window runs Friday 3:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
- Holiday call coverage is required; voluntary holiday work is also available
- Must be willing to float between the Cath Lab, IR lab, and EP lab
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- RCIS or ARRT certification accepted depending on staffing needs
- Active ACLS, BLS, and Fluoroscopy certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted
- Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Cerner experience preferred given system in use
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- EP lab experience is preferred for travelers
- Travel experience is preferred; first-time travelers may be considered but preference is given to those with prior travel experience
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- Orientation is approximately one week
- Call team consists of one nurse and two techs
- A charge nurse is on duty; a supervisor is available on-call after hours
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
