Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day needs of employees, providing ongoing guidance and effectively communicating with all levels of management regarding employee needs, performance, and workplace conduct. This role is crucial in partnering with supervisors to maintain a positive and professional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Address and resolve attendance-related issues promptly.
- Coordinate with onsite health and wellness personnel to support employee well-being.
- Participate actively in the training and onboarding of new hires.
- Assist with various annual company events and employee engagement initiatives.
- Attend weekly staff or departmental meetings to support recruiting, training, and retention efforts.
- Foster a welcoming, open, and supportive environment within the HR function.
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Pursue ongoing HR education through seminars, training classes, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with service vendors as needed for employee benefits, leaves of absence, training, or other HR-related services.
- Assist supervisors and team leads with corrective actions, coaching documentation, and performance support.
- Work independently, demonstrating strong initiative and minimal need for supervision.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and a strong commitment to internal customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review and update policies and procedures as needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of FMLA and EOE guidelines.
- 2-3 years of HR experience, including payroll and onboarding.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in HR, Psychology, or Social Work is preferred.
- Preferred proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS (ADP ServiceNow) and talent management systems.
Work Environment
This is a 2nd shift position located in Bluffton, Ohio, with working hours from 11 am to 8 pm. The start time is flexible.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr.
