Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specialized in Post-Anesthesia Care (RN-PACU) for a contract role in Fort Wainwright, AK. This opportunity provides an engaging and fast-paced environment supporting patient recovery following surgery. The position involves working closely with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and comfort during the critical post-operative period.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring patient vital signs and level of consciousness
- Managing pain control and administering medications as prescribed
- Recognizing and responding promptly to complications or emergencies
- Documenting patient care accurately and thoroughly
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Current Alaska RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PACU, with 5+ years preferred
- Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS mandatory
- Ability to comply with on-call and holiday rotation schedules
- Successful completion of background fingerprinting shortly after acceptance
Schedule and Hours:
- 36 hours per week with 3 days of 12-hour shifts (6:30 a.m. 7:00 p.m.)
- Weekend and holiday call requirements included
- Floating is not required
