Job Description

Director of Engineering - Product & Architecture - Evergreen.AI

Role Description

As Director of Engineering - Product & Architecture, you will own the vision and execution for Evergreen.AI’s platform and products - leading product management and technical architecture to deliver enterprise‑grade, agentic AI solutions at scale. You will define the product strategy and roadmap, establish the reference architecture and platform standards, and ensure that engineering, product, data, and client teams execute cohesively to achieve measurable business outcomes. You will operate as a hands‑on, outcomes‑driven leader who balances discovery with delivery, innovation with governance, and short‑term value with long‑term platform health.

In addition, you will serve as a trusted partner to executive stakeholders, both internal and client-facing, clearly articulating program status, dependencies, risks, and decisions. You will foster a collaborative, solution-oriented culture grounded in communication excellence, operational rigor, and a strong growth mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Define the vision, strategy and architecture for Evergreen.AI’s solution portfolio; translate strategy into a prioritized, outcome‑based roadmap.
  • Establish operating mechanisms and align with GTM, pricing/packaging, and customer success.

Architecture & Platform Strategy

  • Own the architecture for an API‑first, and event‑driven platform; champion domain‑driven design, and decoupled integration patterns.
  • Define multi‑agent orchestration, LLM knowledge management, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Drive resiliency, scalability and capacity planning on platforms (Azure/GCP).

AI/ML Platform & LLMOps

  • Oversee the full model lifecycle: data ingestion, labeling, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, drift management, and rollback strategies.
  • Implement safety guardrails, eval harnesses, human‑in‑the‑loop review, and red‑team exercises.
  • Guide technology choices for orchestration frameworks, vector stores, and model hosting.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Lead a blended organization of Product Managers, and Technical Architects; create clear RACI across product, and architecture.
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering and Program Management on solution shaping, pre‑sales architecture reviews, development and implementation, and roadmap alignment across accounts.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent; build career ladders for Product, Architecture, and Engineering; drive mentorship and succession planning.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in software engineering or platform development, including 5+ years leading multi‑team organizations across Product and Architecture.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering field.
  • Proven track record owning product strategy/roadmaps and establishing modern reference architectures.
  • Hands‑on depth in agentic/LLM systems and orchestration; strong understanding of retrieval pipelines and vector databases.
  • Expertise with Azure (preferred), Kubernetes, containers, and event streaming.
  • Experience building observability, and resiliency patterns.
  • Demonstrated governance leadership and DevSecOps, familiarity with enterprise compliance.
  • Outstanding executive communication, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.
