Job DescriptionSalary: $49.00-$65.00

Position Summary

Under the direction of Physical Therapy Management, the Occupational Therapist at Dameron Hospital is responsible for planning, developing, and administering comprehensive Occupational Therapy services in accordance with applicable Title 22 regulations and all relevant federal, state, and local standards.

This position provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations, including assessment, treatment planning, and the delivery of individualized therapy interventions. The Occupational Therapist must demonstrate sound judgment, professional integrity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Additional responsibilities include contributing to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and the creation and revision of departmental policies and procedures. This is a non-union position.


Position Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Current and valid Occupational Therapist license in the State of California
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience in acute care or inpatient settings preferred


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and interpret findings to develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians or based on provider orders
  • Provide occupational therapy services aimed at restoring or enhancing functional independence in daily activities
  • Utilize interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic activities, assistive devices, sensorimotor integration, and adaptive techniques
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, aides, and support staff during patient treatment as appropriate
  • Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans based on patient response and clinical outcomes
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, including patient care conferences and discharge planning
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, equipment use, and ongoing therapy needs
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in patient medical records and departmental systems
  • Contribute to staff development, in-service training, and continuous quality improvement efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Physical Therapy Management
