Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available at an elementary school in Virginia Beach, VA, for the upcoming school year on a contract basis. This role involves working closely with students exhibiting a range of behavioral challenges, from functional needs to inclusion settings, within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to elementary-aged students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to foster a positive learning environment
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy approaches as needed
- Engage with families to support student development and communicate goals
Qualifications:
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Virginia SLP license, currently active or pending activation by August
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school setting
- Ability to manage students with severe behavioral disorders in both functional and inclusive environments
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
