Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description:
As a Quality Inspector, you will be integral to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and compliance within manufacturing operations. Your role will involve performing detailed inspections, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and collaborating with various teams to uphold a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection Duties: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of precision machined parts, castings, forgings, and electro-mechanical assemblies using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records, certifications, and inspection logs as required by applicable specifications.
  • Compliance: Ensure all products meet customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality metrics. Participate in customer audits and comply with Quality Management System requirements such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and Nadcap.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify defective conditions and test failures, prepare appropriate documentation, and assist in the disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Training and Development: Train and certify operators and other inspectors, providing guidance on quality standards and inspection procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Certifications such as AS13001, AS9102, or DQR are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related inspection experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments. Experience with customer portals, GD&T, and metrology is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
    • Ability to use and calibrate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical measuring instruments and gauges.
    • Strong attention to detail with a focus on preventing customer escapes.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity for detailed work.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
