Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized teaching role is available for a professional skilled in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth services. This position is based in Minneapolis, MN, and is offered on a contract basis within an educational setting.
Responsibilities include delivering instruction and therapeutic support tailored to the needs of students with hearing impairments. The role requires effective use of telehealth platforms to facilitate remote learning and communication, ensuring accessibility and engagement. Collaboration with families, audiologists, and other educational professionals will be integral to creating comprehensive support plans. Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proven experience providing telehealth-based educational services
- Strong understanding of communication modalities and assistive technologies
- Ability to develop individual educational programs (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with relevant educational laws and regulations related to special education
