Job Description

Visa is seeking an experienced Sr. Tax Analyst to join our dynamic team of tax professionals. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys learning and improving processes in a collaborative, innovative environment. The Sr. Tax Analyst will support the global tax department as a key member of the federal tax compliance team. In this role, you will apply US corporate tax rules, ASC 740 tax provision, and other emerging tax policies to prepare tax compliance workpapers and tax provision calculations. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of US tax laws, strong analytical skills, excellent project management and communication skills, and a passion for using technology to improve efficiency. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, improve existing methodologies, and contribute to the overall success of the department.

Essential Functions:

  • Preparation of proforma federal returns and detailed supporting workpapers
  • Preparation and review of federal book-to-tax adjustments
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated federal return workpapers and disclosures
  • Assist with calculation of quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, forecast and cash flow analysis
  • Prepare quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations for global consolidated provision and financial reporting, using OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Prepare tax account reconciliation, provision to return true up, and interest calculations, using tools to optimize efficiency and accuracy
  • Review and validate stock-based compensations reports provided by third-party.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to obtain and validate information for income tax provision and return preparation
  • Assist in special tax projects and initiatives
  • Identify improvements to streamline processes and assist in the implementation of tax technology initiatives.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of relevant work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD)

Bachelor 's degree in Accounting or directly related field
5 or more years of progressive tax experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and/or a large corporate tax department
CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Taxation
Proficient in utilizing Excel to efficiently analyze data
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to apply tax laws and regulations to business situations Knowledge of OneSource products (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Income Tax, and OneSource Apportionment) preferred
Experience with automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power Query, and Power BI)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and oral skills to clearly communicate complex tax and accounting issues
Strong team player that collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
Experience in enhancing processes and implementing technology in tax functions
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment



Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,600.00 to 162,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
