Job Title: Finance Specialist
Location: Houston, TX 77073
Duration: 1-Year Contract (with potential for extension or conversion)
Pay Rate: $33.00 – $37.00 per hour (DOE)
Job Summary
The Finance Specialist supports both direct and indirect costing functions, providing accurate financial analysis, inventory management, and reporting to drive business performance. This role plays a key part in month-end and quarter-end close processes while ensuring data integrity and actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the direct costing team with:

- Account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Inventory adjustments and validation
- Detailed inventory analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Quarter-end close activities, including preparation, analysis, and reporting
- Assist the indirect costing team by:

- Performing manufacturing cost analysis
- Monitoring cost drivers and analyzing variances
- Supporting cost control and optimization initiatives
- Conduct Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis, including:

- Variance analysis against budget and forecasts
- Financial performance tracking and pacing
- Preparation and support of recurring and ad hoc reports
- Provide support for physical inventory processes, including:

- Participation in inventory counts and reconciliation
- Fixed asset tracking and verification
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience is a plus
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and meet tight deadlines
