Job Title: Finance Specialist

Location: Houston, TX 77073
Duration: 1-Year Contract (with potential for extension or conversion)
Pay Rate: $33.00 – $37.00 per hour (DOE)


Job Summary

The Finance Specialist supports both direct and indirect costing functions, providing accurate financial analysis, inventory management, and reporting to drive business performance. This role plays a key part in month-end and quarter-end close processes while ensuring data integrity and actionable financial insights.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the direct costing team with:
    • Account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
    • Inventory adjustments and validation
    • Detailed inventory analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities
    • Quarter-end close activities, including preparation, analysis, and reporting
  • Assist the indirect costing team by:
    • Performing manufacturing cost analysis
    • Monitoring cost drivers and analyzing variances
    • Supporting cost control and optimization initiatives
  • Conduct Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis, including:
    • Variance analysis against budget and forecasts
    • Financial performance tracking and pacing
    • Preparation and support of recurring and ad hoc reports
  • Provide support for physical inventory processes, including:
    • Participation in inventory counts and reconciliation
    • Fixed asset tracking and verification
    • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience is a plus
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and meet tight deadlines
