SUMMARY

To sack corn flour into established presentation units and stack those units onto four-way pallets or tote bags in a neat and orderly manner. Safely transport pallets to the warehouse via a forklift and stack in proper rows.

Responsible to understand own role in the Food Safety Management System by awareness of the importance and relevancy of their activities and to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management. These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.

1. Maintain bag weights within range per packing presentation by check-weighing bags from selected pallets.

2. Inspect and maintain forklifts once per shift and notify supervisor or manager of any problems with equipment.

3. Calibrate metal detectors in accordance with established procedures and schedules.

4. Stack pallets by established method of layering.

5. Monitor printer to ensure readable lot number and product type.

6. Pull samples as directed by Q.A. Department.

7. Keep sack tank at a consistent level to minimize particle separation.

8. Stack pallets neatly in assigned warehouse.

9. Sweep rows before putting product in the rows

10. Maintain work area in a clean and neat manner by stacking unused pallets and checking for cleanliness and protruding nails; by keeping floor around sacker and sack tank rooms clean; and by re-stacking any pallets in the warehouse with torn bags.

11. Interface packaged product into SAP according to established procedures.

12. Inspect and stretch-wrap all bagged product and apply pallet tags to each pallet.

13. Regular and timely attendance is a job requirement of all employees.

14. To know and apply Food Safety Policy principles in relation to all work-related activities and the importance of full compliance of the program.

15. To know and apply Quality and Food Safety principles and all applicable instructions in all related activities to ensure the achievement of safety objectives.

16. To know the Food Safety Management System and support in its implementation, maintenance and improvement.

17. To know and apply Environmental Policy principles while maintaining awareness of related activities and contribute to the program’s successful performance and compliance.

18. To perform all activities and avoid creating significant environmental impacts by following guidelines established in the Environmental Management Systems documents.

19. Understand and apply the Environmental Management system documents applicable to my role, with an awareness of the relevance and importance of my activities to achieve EMS objective, including environmental protection and compliance with applicable legal requirements.

20. Other responsibilities established in the EMS Authority and Responsibility Matrix.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience. Must also be able to be certified as a forklift operator and operate a forklift in a safe manner.
