Job DescriptionExceed Safety LLC is a safety consulting firm based in Raleigh, NC. We are hiring an accounting bookkeeper to join our growing team.

This job is full time (32 hours/week), in-office role. Candidates must be local to the Raleigh area. Limited or no remote work for this position.

Job Role & Summary
As a bookkeeper/accountant, you will oversee keeping correct financial records for our company, which includes recording transactions, addressing account balances, and producing financial statements. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, have a sharp eye for detail, and have a firm grasp of accounting concepts and software.

Responsibilities

  • Keep Exceed Safety’s financial records accurate and up to date.
  • Assist the management in making choices regarding the company’s finances.
  • Manage the cash flow by anticipating cash inflows and outflows.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax laws, and banking regulations.
  • Work closely with bank divisions to support initiatives and find opportunities to streamline processes.
  • Performs bookkeeping, bank deposits & reconciliations, A/R & A/P in QuickBooks
  • Prepares payroll for staff.
  • Maintains bookkeeping files.
  • Review and verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all financial reporting is suitably compliant with local and federal regulations.
  • Perform quarterly audits.
  • Assist with payroll disbursements.
  • Verify business expenditure reports.

Skills

  • A solid knowledge of accounting techniques and principles.
  • Strong computer, analytical and mathematical skills, including internet use, windows XP, Excel, and Word
  • Proficient with appropriate software programs and bookkeeping programs.
  • exceptional attention to detail by identifying discrepancies in financial data.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multi tasks in an environment where priorities can change rapidly and adhere to deadlines.
  • Time management skills and the ability to anticipate and manage a changing workflow.
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and operate a computerized accounting and payroll system.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a similar course, or comparable work experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability to provide detailed level bookkeeping support – accounts payable, accounts receivable, closing books monthly and preparing financial reporting and analysis for small businesses.
  • 1+ years of transactional accounting experience using QuickBooks for/in a professional organization.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality while working with client data.
  • Understanding of banking legislation and compliance standards.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • A willingness to follow established policies and procedures consistently and accurately.
  • Confidence in learning and embracing new technology to solve issues.
  • Experience in developing strong team relationships based on trust, accountability, integrity, and sharing of best practices.

Pay & Benefits
Salary for this role is $30/hour. We do not currently offer health benefits. Retirement plans and paid time off are available.
