Job Overview

A leading acute care trauma hospital in Syracuse is seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong pediatric emergency experience, excellent triage skills, and experience working in high-acuity trauma environments.

Shift Details

• Night Shift – 3x12s
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Some holidays required
• 13-week assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced ED setting
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and triage evaluations
• Deliver acute patient care with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams during emergency interventions
• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management
• Support trauma and critical care procedures as needed

Requirements

• Active New York RN License
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ER experience
• Strong pediatric triage experience required
• Formal triage training required
• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Adult ED experience is a plus
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Experience in large acute care hospitals or trauma centers
