Job Summary
Performs various duties essential to the operation of a landfill-based renewable natural gas (RNG) production facility, which utilizes mechanical systems to process landfill gas into pipeline-quality RNG. These duties include monitoring, operating, maintaining, and optimizing a wide variety of assets and systems at the assigned facility; collecting and analyzing samples; preparing and maintaining operating logs and reports; and performing other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all duties safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and company standards.
- Operates the full range of mechanical, electrical, and gas processing equipment at the landfill RNG facility. These may include landfill gas collection systems, blowers, condensate management systems, compressors, gas upgrading equipment (membrane or TSA), sulfur and siloxane removal systems, emissions controls, analytical instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
- Becomes a subject matter expert (SME) in the full RNG production process to ensure optimal performance of all equipment and systems.
- Monitors and records system performance data to identify trends, abnormalities, and potential maintenance needs.
- Responds promptly to process upsets, alarms, and operational issues.
- Performs a variety of sampling and quality control duties, including collection, analysis, documentation, and shipment of gas, liquid, and solid samples.
- Performs standard maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems as required.
- Operates mobile and stationary equipment including loaders, forklifts, UTVs, and light-duty trucks as needed.
- Conducts confined space entries and elevated work when required, following all safety procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including air permit and gas quality requirements.
- Participates in required safety and technical training programs, including topics such as control of hazardous energy, confined space entry, hot work, spill response, and electrical safety.
- Adheres to company safety policies and maintains a proactive approach to identifying and reporting hazards.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and be on-call as needed to support continuous plant operations.
Education/Experience is required when indicated, desired otherwise.
- Associate degree or higher in a relevant field (mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering/technology) or 3+ years of relevant experience in an industrial or process plant environment. (preferred, not required)
- General mechanical aptitude (required)
- Valid driver's license (required)
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn computerized maintenance management and SCADA systems (required)
- Familiarity with industrial safe work practices: Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Elevated Work.
- Experience operating or maintaining landfill gas systems, RNG upgrading systems, or related process equipment (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Understanding of instrumentation and controls, PLCs, VFDs, and SCADA systems.
- Experience with gas sampling, testing, and quality control equipment. (preferred)
Physical Demand
Field work will include work outside and exposed to the weather, high elevations, confined spaces, electrical components, both stationary and rotating equipment, gases and liquids that are compressed/pressurized, toxic, caustic, or acidic, and/or flammable, dust, exposure to high heat/cold weather, high winds, and high noise.

Satisfactory performance of the essential duties of this job will require standing, kneeling, sitting, and walking as well as fine motor skills (especially of the hands) and the extended reach of arms. Climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, and crawling will be required. Regular senses of smell, hearing, and sight are required. The capacity to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds is required.
Work Environment
The duties of this job will include working both in an office environment and outdoors in the year-round weather as well as inside industrial spaces with operating machinery. Exposure to high heat and high humidity as well as cold weather and high winds can be expected. This job also includes potential exposure to high noise, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, acids and caustic chemicals, flammable and/or poisonous atmospheres, hot surfaces/equipment, cold surfaces/equipment, high vibrations, confined spaces, elevated working surfaces, and vehicle traffic.
Compensation
Salary is paid on a bi-weekly basis and will be consummate with the value and experience the candidate brings to the role. In addition to base salary, compensation includes the option to participate in company sponsored medical, dental, vision insurance plans and in a retirement savings program, paid personal time off and holidays. You will also be eligible for a monthly bonus and participation in the employee Long-Term Incentive plan.
