Schedule (FT/PT): Full Time

Salary: $115,000 - $123,000

Altus specializes in delivering comprehensive engineering, prototyping, testing, and production capabilities, including design, fabrication, assembly, and compliance support to our Government customers. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for Directly supervising and coordinating activities of production and operating workers, such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators.

We are looking for an individual that can use their Production Supervisor experience to add value and make a significant impact as a Production Supervisor to NAVAIR for this opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform as overall site lead and production manager for the industrial and production efforts in support of U.S. Navy programs and projects.
  • Formulate policies, manage production operations, and plan the use of materials and human resources of the site production team.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of the engineering, prototyping, and fabrication shop overseeing multiple artisan sections and leading a team of skilled artisans and craftsmen in support of a broad range of shop functions and departments.
  • Serve as the primary interface and point of contact (POC) between the Program Manager and the production workforce.
  • Manage and coordinate incoming work schedules and the efficient allocation of resources.
  • Continually monitor and assess production performance to cost and schedule, providing guidance to production staff and/or recommendations to management for manufacturing process improvement.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and efficient production operations by training personnel and enforcing Company policies, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPS) and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Other tasks, as required, in support of customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date)
  • Must possess a valid Maryland Driver’s License
  • Must be able to be insured through the company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or a qualifying substitution in an engineering, technical, or business discipline. (Nine (9) total years of qualifying experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.)
  • Three (3) years of experience in production facility management and the ability to work tactfully with professional engineers, technicians, and management staff on all levels of effort.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. The position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.
