Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Supervisor – Semiconductor Cleanroom
Department: Manufacturing / Operations
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager / Operations Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Mechanical Assembly Supervisor to lead precision mechanical assembly operations within a semiconductor cleanroom manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring adherence to quality and contamination-control standards, and driving team performance to meet safety, delivery, and yield objectives.
The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with technical knowledge of mechanical assembly processes, cleanroom protocols, and semiconductor manufacturing standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Production Oversight
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of mechanical assemblers and production staff in a cleanroom environment.
- Assign work, monitor workflow, and ensure production schedules are met.
- Drive accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate production priorities and expectations.
Cleanroom & Safety Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to cleanroom gowning procedures, ESD controls, and contamination-control protocols.
- Promote and enforce safety standards and safe work practices.
- Monitor housekeeping and 5S standards within the cleanroom.
- Address safety concerns promptly and escalate issues as necessary.
Quality & Process Execution
- Ensure assemblies are built according to approved work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Partner with Operations and Quality Engineering to resolve technical or quality issues.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Monitor in-process quality checks and ensure nonconforming material is properly identified and controlled.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, cycle time, throughput, and defect rates.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance team performance.
- Support implementation of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in production readiness activities for new product introductions (NPI).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain to ensure production readiness and material availability.
- Support Engineering Change Order (ECO), and Customer Process Change Request (PCR) implementation and process transitions.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required.
Workforce Development
- Train new employees on assembly procedures, cleanroom standards, and safety requirements.
- Develop cross-training plans to build workforce flexibility.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or semiconductor manufacturing
- 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a production environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes and technical documentation
- Familiarity with semiconductor cleanroom environments, ESD controls, and contamination standards
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing setting
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience working in ISO-controlled or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking tools
Work Environment
This position operates within a semiconductor cleanroom manufacturing environment and requires adherence to strict gowning, contamination control, and ESD protocols. The role involves extended time on the production floor and may require flexibility to support multiple shifts or peak production periods.

- Frequently wear nitrile gloves
