Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students with severe cognitive impairments (SCI) in a K-12 classroom setting. This position offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, with an expected duration from ASAP to June 2, 2026. The role is based near Anderson, Indiana, serving a middle school population.
Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with severe cognitive disabilities, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student progress. Experience and training in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) are highly desirable to effectively manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe learning environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credentials for K-12
- Experience working with students with severe cognitive impairments
- CPI training and practical experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
