Job Title: Machine Builder
Location: Spring Lake, MI
Pay: $28-32/hr
Schedule: 1st Shift
Responsibilities
- Assemble and build precision grinding machines and related automation from prints and BOMs
- Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Install and align mechanical components including bases, spindles, ways, bearings, motors, and ball screws
- Perform machine leveling, alignment, and functional testing
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during build and startup
- Work collaboratively with electrical, controls, and engineering teams
- Assist with machine tear-down, installation, and customer support as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow company quality, safety, and lean manufacturing standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, or similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to travel occasionally for installations or service support (if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building CNC or grinding machines
- Background in precision machining or industrial automation
- Electrical or hydraulic experience a plus
