This opportunity in a progressive care stepdown setting is ideal for nurses seeking to deepen their skills by working with adult and geriatric populations with diverse, complex conditions including cardiac, nephrology, neurology, and diabetes management. The unit boasts 35 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5, ensuring exposure to fast-paced, high-acuity care that enriches your experience for future roles.

As a travel nurse in Omaha, you'll engage with a range of healthcare leaders, learn new best practices in patient safety and teamwork, and gain resume-building experience with titratable drips (Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure medications), advanced monitoring, and interdisciplinary care. Benefit from a supportive onboarding process, with 1-2 days of department-specific orientation to set you up for success.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night Shifts: 1830-0700
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every third holiday
  • No call or standby requirements

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license, driver’s license for eligibility verification
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Must pass an open-book skills exam with a score of 90% during orientation
  • Adherence to all patient care standards (no artificial nails)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to adult/geriatric patients with complex conditions
  • Titrate cardiac and seizure drips as required
  • Effectively communicate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Float to medical, ICU, or rehab units as needed
