We are currently seeking a Full Time Quality Assurance Nurse to join our team providing services in Aiken, Anderson, Berkeley, Dorchester, Georgetown, Oconee and Sumter counties located in South Carolina.
We would prefer that the ideal candidate would be an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a strong background in NCCHC, ACA and Department of Corrections (DOC) standards and audits for correctional healthcare programs. The ideal candidate will have direct experience participating in and maintaining accreditation compliance and a thorough understanding of correctional healthcare operations.

About this position:
The Quality Assurance Nurse is responsible for playing a key role in ensuring continuous quality improvement (CQI), maintaining accreditation readiness and supporting facilities in achieving and sustaining compliance with regulatory and contractual standards.
Quality Assurance Nurse REQUIREMENTS:

Current single state and/or multi-state LPN license
-
Current CPR certification
-
Correctional nursing experience (preferred)
-
Management experience (preferred)
Education/Skills:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing & currently licensed without disciplinary sanctions- multistate license required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Two years experience preferred in Correctional Healthcare settings
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; Strong organizational abilities and effective delegation as well as follow up ability with multiple sites
• Demonstrated experience with NCCHC, ACA audits and state DOC standards
• Computer proficiency required-email, document exchange, excel, etc.
• Current certification in health care provider basic life support including AED/First Aid
• CCHP certification strongly preferred (CCHP, CCHP-RN or CCHP-A)
• Clear security background investigation, obtain facility security clearance and satisfactory motor vehicle report required
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Normal hearing and vision required. Physical abilities involve standing for long periods of time, stooping, bending, and lifting (some overhead areas). Normal ability to walk through a facility and respond to medical emergencies with approximately 10-15 lbs of equipment is required. Facility movement to different areas within the buildings. Some areas with low lighting, narrow spacing and noisy conditions.
Travel:
60% of work time will be travel related and overnight stays are required for site visits, training and audits
40% of work time will be performing job duties at the site in the work conditions listed above in office or clinical setting
Position Summary:
This position is a corporate position responsible for ensuring the comprehensive compliance and care given within the medical unit at the assigned facilities including but not limited to staffing, compliance, coordination of internal/external services and communicating effectively with the facility staff as well as GENESYS Health Alliance Corporate office.
General Duties include but Not Limited To:
• Acts within state licensing mandates and established scope of practice by the State Board of Nursing
• Maintains and incorporates Accreditation and Compliance
• Leads and supports facilities through NCCHC, ACA, and DOC audits and reaccreditation processes
• Conducts mock audits and compliance reviews to ensure continuous readiness
• Provides expert consultation and recommendations to ensure adherence to all applicable correctional healthcare standards
• Maintain current licensure/certification for professional degree and basic life support- healthcare provider certification
• Maintains Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
• Develop, implement and monitor CQI programs to identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Analyzes data and prepare reports on compliance findings, trends, and performance outcomes
• Represents GENESYS Health Alliance in a professional manner with all written and verbal communications, dress, and positive attitude
• Strong interpersonal skills that allow tact and professionalism at all times
• Maintains a good working relationship with correctional personnel, nursing staff, contracted providers, outside provider agencies and Corporate office staff
• Implements Training and Policy Development
• Provides onsite and remote training for staff on accreditation standards and corrective action implementation
• Collaborates with facility leaders to develop and revise policies and procedures consistent with NCCHC, ACA, and DOC standards
• Offers Consultation and Support
• Serves as a resource to facility management for accreditation and compliance-related questions
• Assists with start-ups, transitions and coverage needs for Health Services Administrators or Directors of Nursing as needed
• Implements Performance Expectations
• Maintains full compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and DOC standards across assigned facilities
• Serves as a mentor and subject matter expert to facility leadership teams
• Provides timely follow-up and reporting on audit readiness and corrective actions
• Demonstrates professionalism, accountability and commitment to excellence in correctional healthcare
• Assist with site preparation for visits from outside reviews/audits/accreditation; Maintain site accreditation requirements (ICE, BOP, USMS & NCCHC, ACA and DOC standards) and state/federal laws
• Assist with any training requested by Corporate or direct supervisor
• Appear if subpoenaed or deposition required
• Assist with program and policy revisions as requested and serve on designated committees as needed
• Suggest any opportunities for improvement/efficiency to GENESYS Health Alliance Corporate to be considered
• Does not engage in negative behaviors, gossip, unethical behaviors, behaviors that conflict with the mission, vision or goals of GENESYS Health Alliance
• Assumes personal responsibility and accountability for conduct, actions and adherence to policy
• Other duties as assigned or requested by GENESYS Health Alliance Corporate or direct supervisor
