Position Summary
The Technical Inspector – Lead provides senior-level construction inspection, oversight, and reporting services in support of Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) and Military Construction (MILCON) projects on military installations, primarily at federal facility in Aurora, Colorado, within the Denver metropolitan area, with support to additional geographically separated units as required. This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are executed in accordance with contract requirements, approved plans and specifications, and applicable engineering standards and codes.
Serving as the lead on-site technical authority for inspection activities, the Lead Technical Inspector performs continuous monitoring of construction progress, evaluates contractor performance, and verifies compliance with safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements. The role requires in-depth analysis of construction practices, identification of deficiencies or non-compliance, and thorough documentation of findings, including impacts to schedule, cost, and project execution.
In addition to inspection duties, the Lead Technical Inspector acts as a trusted advisor to the Government, providing detailed reports, technical assessments, and recommended courses of action to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). This position plays a key role in maintaining project integrity by ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability in all aspects of construction oversight, while supporting informed decision-making in a complex, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Oversight & Inspection
- Perform continuous monitoring of construction activities
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, safety plans, and QC plans
- Identify and document deficiencies and non-compliance
- Monitor critical path activities and schedule impacts
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily inspection and progress reports
- Document weather, site conditions, and workforce details
- Provide photographic documentation
- Track deficiencies and corrective actions
Technical Advisory Support
- Review construction documents for constructability
- Provide recommendations for corrective actions
- Advise COR on risks and technical issues
Coordination & Leadership
- Lead inspection activities
- Coordinate with stakeholders
- Support meetings and briefings
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management, inspection, or engineering oversight
- Experience with MILCON or large SRM projects
- Knowledge of DoD, Air Force, ANG construction regulations
- Familiarity with UFC, OSHA, IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASTM, ACI
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics

Location
On base, Buckley Space Force Base (SFB), located in Aurora, Colorado. Hybrid role may be permitted/discussed.
Salary
$60,000 - $65,000
