Job Duties:
As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and reimbursement for medical services. Your duties will include:
- Reviewing and verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
- Coding medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10 and other coding systems.
- Submitting claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail.
- Following up on unpaid, denied and outstanding claims.
- Resolving billing discrepancies and answering patient inquiries.
- Maintaining patient records and confidentiality.
- Collaborating with medical office staff to ensure proper documentation and billing practices.
- Assisting with medical collections as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, coding, and billing procedures.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and other coding systems.
- Familiarity with medical records management systems (preferably eClinicalWorks).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Knowledge of medical collection processes.
- Understanding of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding.
- Fluency in English and one of the following languages: Chinese, Vietnamese, or Korean.
