PURPOSE OF POSITION
To develop and deliver courseware through instruction/facilitation in a classroom, aircraft training device, and/or static aircraft training environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Instructor Training and Experience:
Previous experience within the last seven years as an electronic warfare officer holding a combat systems officer rating on any RC-135 model or comparable aircraft or qualified as a contract instructor in an aircraft listed above within the preceding two years. Previous flight instructor experience in any RC-135 model or comparable aircraft or qualified as a contract instructor in an aircraft listed above within the preceding two years. Must complete a formal Criterion Referenced Instruction (CRI) course within six months after start of training as an instructor. Completion of the ACC Classroom Instructor Course or MAJCOM equivalent satisfies the CRI requirement.
The following qualifications are desired: Previous flight evaluator experience in the last two years any RC-135 model or comparable aircraft. Previous experience as an academic platform instructor or as a training device (simulator) instructor. More than 1,000 flying hours in aircraft listed above. Qualified in aircraft listed above within the preceding four years.
General Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills; handle multiple tasks; flexible in work assignments; and work with little to no supervision.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET clearance with SCI access and must be able to successfully complete a polygraph to use NSA NET.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instructs and measures training progress in academic classroom settings and in Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs) of students who train in the established aircrew training curriculum.
- Conducts briefings and debriefings and counsels with students to develop and maintain a high level of proficiency.
- Researches, compiles and adapts technical content from references, observations and interviews for courseware corrections and modifications and to update training policies and procedures.
- Maintains a high level of subject knowledge, capability and expertise.
- Conducts academics, aircrew training device [simulator, part task trainers (PTT)] instruction and other ground training to student crew members in operating procedures, including diagnosis and remediation of student problems.
- Assist in projects and development work as assigned.
- Performs administrative duties relative to training such as recordkeeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, training development and maintenance of training programs.
- Serves as aircraft type EWO (Raven) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for curriculum development, students and other personnel as required.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- Employee may be required to travel (compensated) to accomplish the instructional portions of the job responsibilities.
