Travel Clerk III / Defense Travel Administrator
Position Overview
The Travel Clerk III / Defense Travel Administrator provides daily DTS administrative and technical support for official travel operations. This position focuses on Tier 1 traveler assistance, traveler profile maintenance, standard document review, routing support, data entry, help desk response, and routine DTS issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Tier 1 DTS support to travelers by phone, email, and in person. Assist users with authorizations, vouchers, amendments, profile updates, login issues, document routing, required receipts, and standard travel questions. Maintain traveler profiles, assist with routing list updates, and support organizational data accuracy within DTS. Conduct technical reviews of travel authorizations and vouchers for JTR compliance, documentation completeness, per diem accuracy, receipts, justifications, and routing accuracy. Assist with Government Travel Charge Card support, split disbursement questions, and traveler out-processing support. Support LOA data entry and recommend corrections to reduce accounting rejects. Maintain help desk logs, workload tracking, document status updates, and supporting data for recurring reports. Escalate complex DTS, JTR, GFEBS, LOA, or reconciliation issues to the Lead DTA.
Qualifications / Experience
Minimum three years of Government travel experience. Must demonstrate working knowledge of DTS organizational structure, traveler profile management, standard document processing, routing support, JTR interpretation, and DoD travel policies. Experience in a DoD travel office, finance office, military headquarters, or high-volume customer support environment is preferred.

Certifications / Training
Must maintain current DTMO TraX training, including DTA Basics, DTS Travel Documents/DTS 101, Programs & Policies 101, Initial TAOCO, Annual TAOCO Refresher, JTR Overview, TDY Travel Policies, OCONUS Travel, Constructed Travel, Cancellation Procedures, Personal Leave with Official Travel, and other applicable annual maintenance modules. Must maintain an active DD Form 577 appointment as an appointed DTA.
Clearance / Security
Must possess and maintain a final SECRET security clearance prior to performing work. Must maintain CAC eligibility and required system access. Must comply with applicable security, OPSEC, CUI, PII, Privacy Act, cybersecurity, badge, system access, and incident reporting requirements.
