JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst supports the financial planning and analysis efforts for our North America organization. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for developing forecasts, analyzing financial performance, leading process improvements, and partnering with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be highly organized, and be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

*This is an ONSITE position in Latham, NY*

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Partner with business leaders to align financial strategies with operational goals.
    • Conduct in-depth variance analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to assess performance against budget and forecast.
    • Present clear, data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Support the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
    • Build and maintain robust financial models that reflect current business conditions and strategic plans.
    • Collaborate with department leaders to collect relevant inputs and ensure data accuracy in forecasts.
  • Data Analysis and Insights
    • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving operational efficiency and profitability.
    • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
    • Create and maintain financial dashboards and performance metrics
  • Financial Planning
    • Use reporting and analysis to influence business decisions.
    • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and evaluate the financial impact of proposed initiatives.
    • Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess potential impacts of business decisions.
  • Process Improvement
    • Drive improvements in financial processes, reporting tools, and data accuracy.
    • Enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial insights delivered to stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Audit Support
    • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience with 3 years in financial planning & analysis or a related field, preferably within a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Power BI or similar data tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders across all levels of the organization including senior management
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Act as a proactive self-starter, generating innovative ideas to drive efficiency and profitability
