Salary Range: $51,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed dimensional inspections of first article parts using precision measuring equipment.
Verify conformance of parts to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards (e.g., GD&T).
Document all inspection results accurately, including identifying and reporting non-conformances.
Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., AS9102).
Utilize and maintain a variety of inspection tools such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and manufacturing process documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing quality inspection, with a focus on First Article Inspection (FAI).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Demonstrated expertise in operating and calibrating a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM).
Strong understanding and practical application of AS9102 FAI requirements and other relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
Excellent ability to accurately document inspection results and generate comprehensive FAI reports.

Bonus Qualifications

Proficiency with 3D CAD software for model-based inspection.
ASQ certification (e.g., CQI, CQT).
Experience with advanced metrology equipment programming (e.g., CMM, Vision Systems).
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
