CAD Drafter Job Summary
Smart Precise Solutions, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support the development, management, and control of engineering drawings. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement of drawing management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret project objectives and define scope of work for engineering and facility initiatives
- Gather and validate requirements from stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and EHS
- Create, update, and maintain engineering drawings (layouts, utility plans, evacuation maps, etc.)
- Develop and maintain as-built, redline, and record drawings
- Prepare sketches, layouts, and preliminary designs for project planning
- Ensure compliance with document control and change control procedures (GMP)
- Maintain and improve drawing/document management systems for version control and audit readiness
- Support development and improvement of SOPs related to drafting and documentation
- Provide weekly progress reports and monthly project presentations
- Collaborate with internal teams and external Architect/Engineering (AE) firms
- Identify and help resolve issues impacting scope, quality, timeline, or cost
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, etc.)
Requirements
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
- Certification in AutoCAD (preferred) or equivalent CAD software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and MS Project
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Professional Drafter license (preferred)
- Experience with AE firms or similar environments (preferred)
Experience
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Industry.
- Drafting/ Auto CAD: 5-8 years (preferred)
