We are a fast growing, woman owned and operated, non-asset based 3rd Party Logistics Provider headquartered in Cranberry Township, PA.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a college intern you will play a supporting role working within the Rates department acting as an extension of the Sales, Account Management, and Operations departments to maintain and grow the companys intermodal business unit.


  • Complete intermodal pricing requests from existing and potential new customers, as distributed by your manager, in accordance with assigned due dates and/or service level agreements.

  • Assist Pricing & Sourcing Analysts with maintaining vendor rate and pricing files

  • Update and maintain weekly and monthly fuel schedules and announcements

  • Assist rates team with updating the carrier procurement and onboarding process

  • Ensure compliance with operational policies prior to pricing business (examples include validating the commodity is not restricted/prohibited, identifying specific geographic areas that are restricted due to embargos, capacity, etc.)

  • Communicate and develop a rapport with internal and external stakeholders to include customers, vendors, sales and account management

  • Collaborate with management and peers to identify best practices to provide continuous improvement in the quality of pricing activities that will lead to improved win ratios and profitability.

  • Support Rate and Operations teams with various assignments while learning how day-to-day efforts fit into the overall business

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

EDUCATION

Required: HS Diploma, GED or equivalent

Preferred: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, Management or comparable degrees with an interest in logistics/transportation

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Math and Keyboard Proficiency

Proficiency in the use of Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint and various software programs

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook

Excellent Communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

Sound Judgement, problem solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, ability to follow directions from other team members, works independently assigned duties

  • Initiating, building, and maintaining healthy relationships

  • Collaborating with sales and business development channels

  • Analytical, organized, data focused and become a subject matter expert with-in the intermodal rail market

  • Able to quickly learn technologies that will be utilized as a Rates Intern to include but not limited to the companys Transportation Management Software, Excel, and other SAAS products specifically used for pricing such as Softmodal.

  • Demonstrate significant communication, prioritization and time management skills
