Principle Responsibilities:
- Drives a safe culture within the group and upholds all requirements of the environmental, health and safety program at Seyer Industries.
- Determines and maintains the proper levels of manufacturing personnel, procedures and systems. The Machining Supervisor will direct the Machining operations of Seyer Industries.
- Initiates productivity improvements through the identification of equipment, tooling and other innovations.
- Hire and train personnel in Machining and Striding areas that optimizes quality and productivity. Maintains development plans which drive improvements to employee capabilities and flexibility.
- Will be responsible for Machining and Striding departmental budgets. The Machining Supervisor has the authority to hire or use shared services as needed in conjunction with other areas throughout the business.
- Maintains the 6S program. Applies proper Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques and supports the company's Lean Initiatives to promote optimal production flow and reduced lead times.
- Prepares reports for the Operations Manager such as forecast hours, cost measurements, productivity measurements, and human resource plans.
- Use the total resource approach to maintaining optimal productivity by using proper planning, machine, materials, methods, and human resources.
- Leads cross-functional team meetings to present performance metrics and drive improvements.
- Drives cross-training within the department to ensure high level of flexibility and capability
- Works with Manufacturing Engineering– to develop and maintain sound production procedures/SOP's and written procedures as needed. In writing, recommends policy changes to the Operations Manager.
- Works with business leaders to ensure proper procedures are in place with regards to governmental regulations for safety and environment.
- Interface with outside customers, auditors, and associates as needed.
- Conform to all requirements of Seyer Industries Quality System and any and all customer-invoked quality requirements (AS9100, for example).
Required Skills/Competencies:
