A dynamic opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacy professional to support inpatient pharmacy operations in the Anaheim, CA area. This contract role offers an initial full-time schedule transitioning to PRN, ideal for a local candidate with strong technical expertise in hospital pharmacy settings.
Responsibilities include accurately performing IV compounding and efficiently filling Pyxis units to support medication distribution across licensed beds. The position supports an average daily census of 44 patients and requires proficiency with Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems. Shift coverage is collaborative, rotating with other technicians, with variable hours including mornings, afternoons, and weekend slots.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid California pharmacy technician license is required.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy environments.
- Proficiency with IV compounding techniques and sterile product preparation.
- Familiarity with automated dispensing systems, particularly Pyxis.
- Competence in using Paragon or Allscripts for order entry.
- Ability to adapt to varying shifts including weekends and rotational schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety in drug preparation and distribution.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week for approximately 4 weeks.
- Rotating shifts: 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, 12:00 PM-8:30 PM.
- Weekend shifts: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
- Following the initial period, transition to PRN availability.
