Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to contribute to an elementary school environment in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year focuses on providing tailored educational experiences to students with diverse learning needs within a K-8 setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring special education support.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet varying needs.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and behavioral expectations.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance in compliance with school policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; masters degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in a K-8 setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate individual student needs.
