Position Summary:

As an On-Site Inventory Specialist, you will play a critical role in the moving process by visiting client residences to perform detailed inventories of household items. Your responsibilities include assessing the scope of the move, documenting all items accurately, and providing essential data to ensure a smooth and efficient move. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide a professional and reassuring customer experience.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site pre-move surveys in residential homes to assess inventory and special handling needs.
  • Accurately document household items, including descriptions, quantities, and conditions.
  • Identify items that require special packing, crating, or care due to fragility or value.
  • Utilize mobile devices, inventory software, or digital tools to input and manage inventory data.
  • Communicate clearly with customers to set expectations and explain the inventory process.
  • Coordinate with the sales staff to ensure accurate move estimates and logistics.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor as a representative of the company.
  • Ensure all inventory documentation complies with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Uphold confidentiality and respect when working in customers’ private homes.
  • Report any inconsistencies, risks, or special requests to appropriate departments.



Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • 1–2 years of experience in the moving, logistics, or inventory field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and observational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy; experience with mobile apps or inventory tracking software preferred.
  • Customer service experience and ability to work in diverse home environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and walk through homes, including stairs and tight spaces.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.



Working Conditions:
