Job Title: Inventory Technician

Job Description

The Inventory Technician receives, inspects, labels, and stores materials, hardware, and building components while maintaining accurate inventory records in a warehouse setting. This role ensures stock levels remain accurate and sufficient, supports supply chain and production activities, and contributes to a clean, efficient, and safe warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, hardware, and building components against packing slips and documentation.
  • Label and store incoming materials in designated locations to ensure easy identification and retrieval.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, physical audits, and timely system updates in the ERP system.
  • Track stock levels and proactively flag low inventory, discrepancies, or issues to the supply chain team.
  • Collaborate closely with the supply chain team to support reordering activities and vendor coordination.
  • Pick, kit, and stage materials for manufacturing production runs and installation crews according to bills of materials (BOMs) and work orders.
  • Process inbound and outbound shipments, including verifying documentation and ensuring correct quantities and item details.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse spaces to ensure clean, efficient, and safe operations, including proper placement of materials and use of shelving.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, to move and store materials safely and efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in inventory and material flow processes and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to lean inventory and 5S principles where applicable to improve organization and reduce waste.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate material availability and resolve inventory issues.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and cycle counts.
  • Hands-on experience in receiving materials and managing stock in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems or inventory management software for record-keeping and system updates.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in inventory records and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret packing slips, bills of materials (BOMs), and work orders.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Team-first mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Material handling experience, including working with shelving and organized storage systems.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and related warehouse equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or prefab/modular building environments.
  • Familiarity with lean inventory principles or 5S methodology.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain forklift certification.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse setting with a focus on organization, safety, and efficiency.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse setting that supports manufacturing and installation operations. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gardena, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
