Position Summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a Warehouse Technician to safely facilitate the shipping, receiving, and issuing process in the warehouse environment.

Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Technician will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in the physical set up and running of the warehouse.
  • Assist in setting up warehouse layout and equipment requirements, ensuring warehouse is ready to receive and issue materials.
  • Inspect incoming material, enter data into database and notify Warehouse Supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Physically checks incoming materials against specifications indicated on the purchase order.
  • Checks for damaged or substandard quality and verify quantity and type of product.
  • Assist end users as required to locate parts and input into database software and replenish inventory.
  • Operate materials handling equipment as required.
  • Promote safe work practices and warehouse safe operations.
  • Provide routine housekeeping to keep floors and walkways free from dust, dirt, and debris.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to track inventory levels, create reports, and maintain logs.
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical records of shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions.
  • Other material and warehouse duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to organize and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a warehouse environment.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Exposure to the elements (rain, snow, cold, heat, etc) is to be expected.

Salary

  • $28 - $29 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.
