Purpose of the Position
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will prepare packages and ship all outgoing materials, will maintain an inventory of packaging materials, and will support all incoming deliveries as needed.
Main Tasks
- Package and ship products in accordance with customer and company requirements.
- Review shipping bills and carrier forms for correct shipping data and charges.
- Prepare and ready packages to ship to international customers and group companies.
- Receive and maintain records of incoming shipments.
- General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements Profile
- High School Degree Preferred
- 2+ Years of experience in warehouse/logistics setting
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with other employees and vendors
- Basic understanding of logistics concept
- SAP experience preferred
- Proficient in the use of technology (Microsoft word and excel)
- Knowledge of packaging techniques and materials for fragile instruments
- Knowledge of protecting small parts from shipment damage
- Familiarity with procedures and documentation of various transportation carriers
- Familiarity with shipping tariffs
- Ability to lift/move large boxes without difficulty using a walk behind forklift.
- Physical Requirements: ability to continuously be bending, reaching, stretching, lifting up to 50 lbs., (75 lbs. with assistance) and walking daily
