Lathe Machinist Overview: As a Lathe Machinist in our shop, you will be part of a dynamic, high-performing team and will machine parts using start of the art technology and to exacting standards. You must be able to set up, run production, and trouble shoot. Experience with Fanuc and Nakamura is essential.
Lathe Machinist Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 Per Hour
Lathe Machinist Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with OT
Lathe Machinist Location: Maple Grove, MN
Responsibilities
- Operate multiple Multi-Turret Lathes on the floor at one time
- Complete machine set up, tooling selection, tooling changes, and offsets
- Set Up Barfeeder and saw material as needed
- Thorough knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Maintain area and machines as required – clean and empty machines as needed and perform daily and yearly maintenance
- Perform material control for quality assurance
- Inspection of products using a micrometer, calipers, height gauges, and other shop inspection equipment
- Inspect finished work piece for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual inspection
- Completes first piece inspection and buy-off and regular in process inspection supervisor or the QC inspector
- Keep pace and meet delivery deadlines
- Report findings and any other suggested changes to improve efficiency and production quality
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to grow and learn
- All other assigned tasks
Qualifications/Skills
- Fanuc Control experience
- 3-5 years of Turret lathe experience - Triple Turret experience is a bonus
- Set up, Tool Changes, Trouble Shooting on Turret Lathes
- High attention to detail and quality, agile minded, and optimistic
- Ability to produce a product above the customers’ expectations
- Great communication skills; written and oral
- Personally committed to high quality work and encourages others to have similar standards
- Demonstrates ownership and pride about the appearance of the shop and their workspace
- Focused on collaboration to develop the best product for the customer and drive shop efficiency
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand all day
- Able to read and understand drawings and schematics
- Think critically and bring ideas forward to help improve process
- Good math and critical thinking skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be an American citizen
