Summary
At Hi-Way Paving, we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields.
We are looking for a Class A or B CDL Driver with a Hazmat Endorsement to operate manual field equipment and support our slip-form concrete paving operations. This role involves driving commercial trucks, loading and unloading materials, and performing daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
Additionally, the CDL Driver will assist with general labor tasks on-site. Depending on project needs, this position requires flexibility to work both day and night shifts.
While based in Nashville, TN, this role may require up to 100% travel to job sites in Charlotte, NC; Columbia, SC; and other future site locations TBD.
What You'll Do:
- Operate company vehicles, including water trucks, vac trucks, dump trucks, fuel trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
- Transport and distribute materials to designated job site locations per project specifications.
- Perform daily inspections and assist with general maintenance of commercial vehicles.
- Assist with general labor tasks, including shoveling and raking dirt, gravel, and concrete.
- Operate small equipment such as dozers, backhoes, and rollers, as needed.
- Direct vehicle traffic and signal equipment operators when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with laborers, machine operators, and site management.
- Follow all safety protocols and worksite regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
What We Look For:
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Required
- Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement (Required)
- Manual Transmission Experience (Required)
- Heavy or Highway Construction Experience (Preferred)
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., Airport AOA, Military Bases)
- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to lift 75 lbs., climb, stand, sit, walk, enter confined spaces, push, pull, kneel, squat, and perform repetitive movements.
