Job Title: Chemical Operator / Chemical Handler
Location: Sylmar, CA 91342
Duration: 11 Months Contract (Potential temp to perm)
Pay Rate: $24/hr.
Shift Time: 1st shift, M-F (6am-2:30pm)
 
Level I: 3-5 years of experience. Material Handler with Chemical Handling Experience in a production environment.
 
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Accurately performs most chemical manufacturing functions as needed while working under limited supervision of senior operators.</li>
<li>Complete priorities in relation to defined schedules to manufacture high performance aerospace materials to prescribed standards and specifications.</li>
<li>Monitor complex chemical reactions/operations under supervision of senior operators.</li>
<li>Participate in 5 S activities.</li>
<li>Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements at all times.</li>
<li>Facilitate the chemical process, including adding reactants to raw materials and overseeing all steps of the reactions</li>
<li>Perform tests on the final product</li>
<li>Make any necessary adjustments to equipment</li>
</ul>
 
Education and Experience
<ul>
<li>High school diploma / GED</li>
<li>Prior experience with chemical production processes or in a manufacturing environment (strongly preferred)</li>
</ul>
