Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles is a growing psychiatric hospital dedicated to serving both adult and geriatric populations. As we continue to grow, we are actively expanding our Lake Charles team in preparation for increasing our capacity to a total of 42 beds, serving both adult and geriatric patients.

AnAssistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department and ensuring high-quality patient care.
In this role, the ADON helps manage nursing staff, including scheduling, supervision, training, and performance evaluations. They assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining accreditation standards. The ADON also plays a key role in monitoring patient care, addressing clinical concerns, and supporting staff in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care.Additionally, they collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, help manage staffing needs, and step in to lead the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing. Strong leadership, clinical knowledge, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Registered Nurse for at least 5 years with a minimum of 3 years of past working experience in clinical psychiatric/mental health nursing care, with MSN oversight.
License: RN License through the Louisiana state board of nursing
Experience: 3 years ofmanagement in mental health nursing
