About the Role
LHH Recruitment is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support key human resources functions including recruitment, training and development, benefits administration, and compensation support. This role is fully onsite in North Portland and serves as a hands-on partner to leadership and employees, ensuring smooth HR operations and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruitment: job posting, sourcing, interviewing, selection, and offer coordination.
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify job requirements and ensure timely hiring needs are met.
- Conduct new-hire onboarding, orientation, and ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
Training & Development
- Assess training needs and coordinate learning programs, compliance training, and skill development initiatives.
- Support employee engagement efforts and assist with internal communication and cultural initiatives.
Benefits Administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and escalations.
- Administer health, dental, vision, disability, FMLA/leave programs, and open enrollment cycles.
- Ensure accuracy of benefit deductions and maintain compliance with federal/state regulations.
Compensation & HRIS
- Support compensation review cycles, job description updates, and market alignment.
- Process employee status changes (pay changes, promotions, separations) accurately and timely within the HRIS.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide guidance on HR policies, employment laws, practices, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Maintain personnel files and ensure documentation meets legal and policy standards.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and safety-focused workplace.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
- BIG plus: Background in food manufacturing, food production, or food industry HR (highly preferred given regulatory and compliance overlap).
- Strong knowledge of Oregon and federal employment law.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem?solving skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems; ability to maintain accurate employee data and reporting.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors Degree and/or any other HR related furthering education strongly preferred.
Pay Details: $32.00 to $41.00 per hour
