Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and feasibility analysis.
  • Coordinate design development, constructability reviews, and value engineering efforts.
  • Ensure project plans meet healthcare-specific requirements, including clinical workflows, equipment needs, and facility standards.
  • Coordinate infection control, air quality management, interim life safety measures (ILSM), and safety protocols for work in patient-occupied areas.
  • Maintain documentation required for inspections, permitting, and regulatory approvals.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment.
  • Manage all subcontractor activities, deliverables, and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate shutdowns, utility interruptions, and work affecting sensitive clinical operations.
  • Mitigate disruptions to patients, staff, and hospital services during active construction.
  • Create and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and payment applications.
  • Develop baseline and detailed schedules; track progress and adjust timelines as needed.
  • Manage change orders, procurement processes, and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with healthcare safety standards.
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections and ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Address and resolve field issues promptly to minimize impacts on operations.
  • Lead punch list completion, commissioning, testing, and equipment startup.
  • Ensure all turnover documentation, warranties, as-builts, and O&M manuals are delivered.
  • Support post-occupancy evaluations and ensure a smooth transition to facility operations.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • 5–10+ years of construction project management experience, with significant experience in healthcare or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience overseeing projects in active hospital or clinical settings strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of healthcare construction processes, codes, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, MS Project).
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage complex phasing, constrained work areas, and high-risk shutdowns.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines and operational constraints.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC)
  • CHC (Certified Healthcare Constructor)
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • PMP or CCM a plus
