We are seeking an experienced Energy Project Development Engineer to lead energy modeling, analysis, and audit support for PA, DA, and IGA projects. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate savings calculations, supporting ECM identification, and managing M&V processes. The position requires strong technical expertise in HVAC, lighting, and plug load systems, as well as hands-on involvement in site work and utility rebate processes. Collaboration with sales, engineering, and external reviewers is critical to achieving divisional goals and delivering successful energy projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead energy calculations and usage modeling for PA, DA, and IGA projects.
- Support sales in identifying ECMs.
- Deliver accurate and timely reports and analyses.
- Develop energy savings analysis to protect customer interests and reduce liability.
- Contribute to annual sales objectives of the Energy Division.
- Supervise and participate in site work as required.
- Manage utility rebate submissions and requirements.
- Handle M&V obligations per contract requirements.
- Oversee the 3rd Party review process for guaranteed savings projections and calculations.
- Develop technical expertise in installed systems and building performance.
- Ensure compliance with local and national codes.
- Provide leadership and collaborative input to meet divisional goals.
- Work effectively with Energy Services sales representatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years experience as an energy engineer with a recognized ESCO.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, lighting, and plug load operations.
- Proficiency with DOE2, EQUEST, and MS Office Suite.
- Comprehensive understanding of IPMVP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Lift and carry ladders, drawings, computers, and materials.
- Stand and walk for extended periods on construction sites.
- Climb multiple flights of stairs or ladders.
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record when operating vehicles.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, and crawl as required.
